From the first note of this song, I could tell that it was going to be good. It starts off with a really nice guitar riff that instantly hooks you and grabs your attention and any pop-punk fan would love it. After this, the rest of the instruments come in and just complete the sound of the track – very modern pop punk with classic elements thrown into the mix.
Throughout, I’m totally fixated with this strong bassline that weaves through all of the other instruments and vocals which creates another great sound to the song. The chorus is none other than an eruption of pop-punk goodness that is so catchy it stays stuck in my head for days and with the sound turning more upbeat, it’s the classic emo style in regards to upbeat pop-punk chords with a more sinister story painted by the lyrics.
One of the best parts of “Runs On Guilt” is definitely the bridge when the lyrics take a turn into the tragedy of the story but the fast drum beats and guitar chords make you wanna dance and jump up and down – really clever.
