One of the best punk bands of all time, Mannequin Pussy, played the Fine Line in Minneapolis on May 7 to a room of passionate fans. This show marked one of many on a nearly sold-out tour. Mannequin Pussy’s expansive tour titled the ‘I Got Heaven Tour’ follows the release of their album of the same name on March 1. The crowd was packed wall-to-wall by the time that opener, Soul Glo, took the stage and fans were ready to mosh.
Soul Glo, a Philadelphia-based hardcore punk band, joins Mannequin Pussy for the entirety of their thirty-show tour, and rightfully so. The band put on one of the best opening performances I have ever seen, with lead singer, Pierce Jordan, joining the pit at one point during their set. Soul Glo has not released an album since 2022, so I expect we can be on the lookout for new music soon. I highly recommend giving them a listen.
Next up was Mannequin Pussy. The four-piece band is well known among the punk scene for their spectacular instrumentals, ripping vocals, and of course, stellar performances. They certainly did not disappoint. Fans screamed the lyrics to every song alongside incredible vocalist, Missy Dabice, proving their dedication to the band. There are still quite a few shows left of the ‘I Got Heaven Tour’ and the perfectly curated show is a must-see for any fans of the punk genre. Catch Mannequin Pussy in a city near you!
