The ‘True Power Tour’ took on The Clyde Theatre here in Fort Wayne last week with a packed room and killer music. With a nearly completely sold-out tour; Yours Truly, Fit For a King, Pierce the Veil, and I Prevail played an incredible show that filled all of our little pop-punk hearts.
Your Truly, who traveled all the way from Australia, took the stage first. Although I may not have known their music, I was really impressed with the stage presence they brought. It’s always good to see a strong opener who not only performs great but gets the crows amped up for the bands to follow.
Fit For a King came out next and WOW. I have never seen a bass guitarist with as much energy as Tuck had. Jumping and swinging his guitar in ways I couldn’t even comprehend; they rocked the stage playing some iconic hits and brand new music.
Next was the eternally loved Pierce The Veil. I swear Vic’s voice never changes and to hear it finally live, *chefs kiss*. Although some fans wished to hear more of their older music, their set was heavily filled with newer songs. But there was no way they weren’t going to play “King For A Day” and “Bulls in the Bronx.” After the first three songs I tried to scoot my way into the crowd but when I say it was packed from the barricade to the entrance doors, there literally was no room to move. I’ve never experienced a sold-out show at the Clyde before and it definitely was an experience.
Closing out the night from a crazy line up, I Prevail brought the energy. Crowd surfer after crowd surfer flooded the barricades. The audience screamed every word with all that they had left in them. I have to say this is one of the best shows I’ve been to in awhile.
Getting to see two bands that have meant so much to me together in one night was so much fun. If you get the opportunity to see the ‘True Power Tour,’ I highly suggest checking it out. Like I said most shows are completely sold out, but if you get lucky and get a ticket, I promise you won’t regret it.
