All’s Well with Jesse McCartney

It’s not everyday that you get to see a childhood crush stop by your city while they are on tour. When that day comes, fans will rush and fill the venue with hope and nostalgia as they see their childhood crush appear on the stage before them in bewilderment, singing songs that they either heard on the TV shows growing up. At least that’s what had happened at the Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Fans filled the venue with that same hope and nostalgia and had the golden opportunity to see Jesse McCartney on his All’s Well tour. Opening for the tour was none other than the stunning Lorelei Marcell. Appearing on stage with her fabulous presence, she sang her songs that was both mythical yet meaningful. With “Dear Conformity,” she encouraged the audience that if they have someone special, pull them close. Along with a beautiful rendition of The Script’s “Breakeven,” she even performed her recent song, “MIDDLE GROUND.”

As for Jesse McCartney, all collective memories of the audience’s childhoods appeared throughout the venue and on stage as he began his set. His songs such as “Right Where You Want Me,” “Because You Live,” and “Just So You Know” excited fans so much to the point where they sang every lyric. Throughout the show, McCartney created a memorable and lasting impression, all as simple as him performing his songs we all grew up listening to, and to him simply waving to a young fan in the audience, leaving them ecstatic.

Personally for me, I was surprised when he performed a cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please,” and Leona Lewis’s  “Bleeding Love.” One fun fact: McCartney originally wrote “Bleeding Love” and it was such a joy to hear him perform the song live. As the night drew more to a close, one part of the show left me screaming like the fangirl that I am. When he invited one lucky fan from the audience, where he sang them “Party For Two,” the audience and myself watched in excitement and surprise.

To close out his show, he performed his beloved song we all knew and loved, “Beautiful Soul,” which he proudly proclaimed is now 20 years old. McCartney and Marcel not only left our vibrant city to continue the tour, but a memory that most fans will cherish. Attending this show was perhaps one of the most fun performances that I have attended in a long time, and like many fans that attended the show, will have a lasting impact on me.
