State Champs kicked off their North American tour at Emo’s in Austin on Friday, November 8th. The start of the tour marked the release of their fifth full-length self-titled album. The four-piece from Albany, NY played a mix of their pop-punk hits like “Mine Is Gold,” “Outta My Head” and “Perfect Score.” The crowd showed that they did their homework and sang along with the new songs just as loud as the classics.
Chicago’s own, Knuckle Puck kept the Friday energy going with their up-beat punk tracks for both longtime fans and newcomers. Knuckle Puck played newer songs like “A New Beginning” and “On All Cylinders” as well as heavy hitters like “No Good” and “Untitled.”
Meet Me @ The Altar had the crowd singing to a mashup of covers from artists like New Found Glory and Jimmy Eat World, as well as their hits like “Now Or Never.” Meet Me at The Altar brought such a wholesome energy to the venue when they had the crowd open up an all-girl pit during “Hit Like A Girl.”
Power-punk duo Daisy Grenade picked up the tempo with their punchy songs like “How To Hide A Body” and “Are You Scared Of Me Yet?” and performed a killer cover of “King For A Day” by Pierce The Veil.
Local Austin band, Floor Space opened up the show at Emo’s. This tour just started so make sure to check it out at city near you soon!
