The team members of For The Punks took the time for a third year in the row to compile a list musicians and bands that you should be listening to this summer! With pop-punk, rock, rap, pop, and more filling our list, we hope you will take the chance to discover your next favorite artist!

UPSAHL
Recommended songs: “Thriving,” “Notorious,” “Time of my Life”

Johnny Hunter
Recommended songs: “Endless Days”
Em Violet says, “This song is well written and will really speak to your soul.”
Connor Price
Recommended songs: “Smooth,” “SPLAT,” “Gasoline”
Connor Price makes the perfect type of music for summer, his flow is so smooth that it’s the perfect kind of vibe for a windows down car ride. Listening to his music makes you feel like the main character, you can’t help but feel ecstasy flow through you.
Dylan Fipps shares that, “Calling All Captains are a super underrated pop punk/ easy core band! Caleb Shomo (Beartooth) produced their most recent album and it’s incredible.”
Meryl shares that they are the perfect summer vibe! Meryl is part of the band (the drummer) and had to share. They are a very pop-rock and heavy vibe!
Calratz
Recommended songs: “4×4” and “Motavation”
It’s hot ska summer! Last year we featured ska band We Are The Union on our summer listens playlist and are happy to share Fil-Am Ska/Punk band Calratz from Los Angeles, CA this year. Meryl says that ska-punk rock bands are always a go to during summer!
If you’re looking for a mix between alternative, electronic, and just pure art look no further. Wallows is the perfect windows down at golden hour driving band.
Remi Wolf
Recommended song: “Quiet On Set,” “Liquor Store,” “Anthony Kiedis”
Our graphic designer Luna shares, “Remi is a super cool artist with funky beats and fun lyrics that will make you bop your head along and is the perfect soundtrack for a pool party or if you are just hanging out outside with your friends during the summer.”
Chloe Moriondo
Recommended songs: “Hell Hounds,” “I Want To Be With You,” “werewolves”
Chloe is released their Blood Bunny Deluxe album in June and has the best summer vibes in their music,” shares Olivia Chavez.
The Aces
Recommended songs: “Don’t Freak” “Girls Make Me Die” “Stay”
Soon to be staples in the pop queerdom, The Aces give us syncopated and addicting bops with nostalgic, adolescent lyricism of sticking out and falling in love.
JER
Recommended songs: “Clout Chasers” and “R/Edgelord”
It’s hot ska summer (again)! Over a month ago, JER released their debut album Bothered / Unbothered with ten new tracks and it’s one of our favorite releases of the summer. If you love ska or are looking to learn more about the genre, this album is a great place to start. The track “R/Edgelord” wasn’t a track on this album, but it’s still a notable and must listen track.
Pool Kids
Recommended songs: “That’s Physics, Baby” and “I Hope You’re Right”
Pool Kids is a must listen to band this summer and it’s not just because they have the word “pool” in their name. Back in 2018, the Tallahassee band released their debut album Music To Practice Safe Sex To and are following it with their self-titled sophomore album on July 22. The album is out now, be sure to give it a listen!
Tobe Nwigwe
Recommended songs: “Round Here (PART ONE)” and “Round Here (PART TWO)”
Earlier this year, Tobe Nwigwe treated fans with a slew of consistent, thought-provoking visuals. Nwigwe shortly afterward his performance at Something In The Water Festival released the visuals for “Round Here (Part 1)” and “Round Here (Part 2),” which caught our attention. Not only are the videos some of the best music videos I have watched this year so far, the music is catchy and on repeat. It’s everything you would want for the summer.
Honey Revenge
Recommended songs: “Distracted” and “Miss Me”
Honey Revenge recently released their second single “Distracted.” It’s perfect for any pop-rock and Disney fans. With single artwork from Kay Dargen, you already know it’s going to be a solid single. In the first weekend alone, the track received over 50,000 streams on Spotify. As it should. The track is catchy and alongside other songs on this list, will be on repeat this summer.
We made a Spotify playlist with these artists! It’s the perfect listen. Stream it down below!
