Spaced Takes Brooklyn Out of This World

The heat wave hitting the Northeast just got a lot hotter! This past weekend, Buffalo hardcore band Spaced played at the intimate Mona Liza Studios in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The tiny stage provided just enough room for all instruments, so each vocalist took the floor to sing into the crowd.

The show opened with Godskin Peeler who I did not photograph in fear of being walloped – I am still recovering from a knee to the face last month that left me with a black eye and three chipped teeth (thanks Incendiary :)) The crowd was rowdy, swinging in every direction and having a great time.

Rabbit then took the stage and again the vocalist took to the floor to perform, taking occasional stops in front of the industrial fan pointed towards the crowd, kept high energy and was a sight to look at! Up next was Excide. This is now my third time seeing them and they just keep getting better! They are so fun to watch and are definitely a band to keep on your radar!

Wreckage took the stage and all I can say is – wow – the energy they bring is insane. They have an upcoming headline show in Connecticut and I will likely sacrifice the three hour drive to attend. I like them that much.

Closing out the night you have Spaced – Buffalo hardcore at its finest! Everyone had such a fantastic time as Lexi took to the floor to be in the crowd. Moshing or not, that room was hot and everyone left drenched and happy. New Spaced music coming soon!
