The boys are back in town! boygenius, composed of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus, recently headlined the Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut as part of their east coast tour this September. Fans of all ages dressed up in their creative boygenius inspired outfits and came ready to scream with their favorite band. To start out the night, Palehound took the stage first. They played some incredible music and were so vocal about issues currently facing both the music industry as well as the world today.
boygenius started off their set by singing “Without You Without Them” offstage, allowing the crowd to have a fun sing-along moment before anyone officially began performing. The rest of their set that followed was incredibly energetic but also very emotional. It was very obvious that this show was special to a lot of people in the crowd, including those on the barricade and those at the top row of the arena seats. Before the night was up, boygenius ended up performing their entire new album the record, while also debuting their new song “Voyager” off of their upcoming EP releasing this month. To end an incredible evening, the crew brought out a cake to celebrate Julien’s birthday and the final notes of “Salt in the Wound” were met with cake being thrown into the audience by Phoebe and Lucy. This show was truly such an incredible performance and their next tour is a must see!
