Joywave are on their first leg of the Premanet Pleasure World Tour and recently stopped by Emo’s in Austin, Texas on October 2. A curled-up (inflatable) cat was set to center stage before Joywave came out, but the crowd was in for a show that was anything but sleepy. Joywave opened their set with “Graffiti Planet,” the first song off their fifth studio album, Permanent Pleasure. Joywave played a multitude of crowd favorites and new tracks like “Obsession,” “Somebody New,” “He’s Back” and “Scared.” And it wouldn’t be a Joywave show without them playing “Destruction” not one, but two times—as a little treat.
Los Angeles-based indie band, HUNNY opened the show at Emo’s and is supporting Joywave across North America. HUNNY set the sage with their upbeat tracks like “Solo,” “Good Will Hunting Song” “July” and “Saturday Night.”
