Chelsea Cutler’s When I Close My Eyes Tour hit Charlotte, NC on March 17th. Chelsea played at The Fillmore and ROSIE and Adam Melchor opened the show.
I found ROSIE from TikTok in 2020 from her “Never the 1” video so I was very excited to see her perform, and she didn’t disappoint. When her set began her microphone wasn’t working which actually turned out to be a positive interaction while she and fans laughed together until the issue was fixed. As she moved through the set, she waved and smiled at fans and seemed to be enjoying every moment on the stage as I’m sure everyone else in the room was enjoying it just as much.

Next up was Adam Melchor. I discovered Adam in 2019 and had the opportunity to see him at a smaller headlining show in 2021. It was so incredible to see him perform at a larger venue to so many new listeners. Hearing the crowd sing “Joyride” back to him was one of my favorite moments of the show. After his set, I overheard some fans saying that they didn’t know who he was before the show started but they are fans now and it made me so happy to hear.

In 2020, I was unexpectedly introduced to Chelsea Cutler’s music. Noah Kahan hopped on a version of “Crazier Things” by Chelsea and I didn’t know how much that would impact me. I began listening to Chelsea’s entire discography and immediately fell in love. After becoming so drawn in by her relatable and meaningful songs, I wanted to see her live in concert. I saw her with Quinn XCII in both 2020 and 2021. Seeing her live on her solo headliner was such a beautiful experience. Her shows are unlike any others. The atmosphere created is one where you feel like you can be yourself, be accepted, and connect with others around you. Screaming the lyrics to “Devil On My Shoulder” with hundreds of people is something I’ll never forget.
The When I Close My Eyes Tour is continuing through the end of April and you can check out the rest of the dates here.
