Indie-rock band, Flipturn, took on Los Angeles’s newest venue The Bellwether. With support from Guantanamo Bay Surf Club and Próxima Parada, the night was warm, inviting, and especially lively. Strangers became friends feeling the music as one, dancing and throwing their hands in the air. From playing their groovy hits, to bringing us back in time with a cover of the hit band Tears for Fears, Flipturn rocked the stage and had everyone on their feet jumping up and down.
After finishing their set Flipturn exited the stage but swiftly reappeared for a three song encore. Drummer, Devon VonBalson, swapped out his sticks for maracas and bass mallets and frontman, Dillon Basse, sung out their ballads with his beautifully unique voice. I have never heard a louder crowd sing a bands lyrics back to them. It was wonderful to share the joy with the band and the fans.
