GALE Releases Debut Album “LO QUE NO TE DIJE” & Attends Governors Ball (Exclusive Portraits)

Bilingual singer-songwriter GALE recently debuted her first studio album LO QUE NO TE DIJE on May 13, 2023. She attended Gov Ball day 2 on behalf of Bacardi where we had the chance to do some portraits together!

The 13-track album has songs with varying themes of love, lust, heartbreak, and self-love. GALE, born in Puerto Rico to a family of musicians, proudly represents her roots in her music as she took the risk to leave and moved to Miami to jumpstart her career. With her style and emotionally honest songwriting, GALE worked toward her dreams, not allowing obstacles to stand in her way. She has songwriting credits for Anitta, Shakira, Cardi B, and Christina Aguilera which landed her her first Latin Grammy’s “Album Of The Year” nomination. But she’s now stepping into her own spotlight!

GALE sets the tone of her album with Track 1, “LQNTD (Intro)” singing, “Tengo cosas que decirte, no me arrepiento. Pero me estaba perdiendo. No puedo dejar de ser yo, Quiero soltar. Me eligo a mi. Me quiero más a mi”

The English translation, “I have things to tell you, I do not regret. But I was missing. I can’t stop being me, I want to let go. I choose me. I love me more.” By adding complexity and nuance to everyday issues she invites listeners to think more deeply about the themes/topics she discusses which brings a sense of relatability to her listeners. She establishes that she’s found herself more important than someone she once loved and that she put above herself. The entirety of the album shows the ups and downs of coming to this realization that most individuals go through whatever their circumstances.

Her experimental sound binding with her rich culture is what her music is all about. She’ll be making an appearance at the Latin Alternative Music Conference in NYC on July 11, 2023 representing Sony Music Latin.
