We joined Hayley Dare at her EP Release Show at Sleepwalk in Williamsburg, New York on October 9. Dare headlined the event and was joined by openers Hugs For Science and Keegan. The venue was small and intimate, but the crew brought on an enthusiastic and interactive crowd!
Date released her EP Walking In Circles on October 4. This is her first EP, and it contains four tracks, two which were previously released as singles and two new tracks. Her EP dives into the pains of a relationship you’ve outgrown, from “Sorry” being her “twee diss track” to “Preemptive Mourning” which describes the heartbreak before the actual heartbreak.
Dare performed her entire EP, as well as a few of her previously released tracks. Though her lyrics covered topics of loss, grief, and aging, the energy in the room was fantastic. She performed a mix of acoustic and full band sets. Dare engaged with the crowd, telling the stories of her songwriting and behind the scenes snippets of her lyrics. Her reliability, transparency, and infectious energy gave the evening a glow and made it an incredibly successful EP release show!
