Summer School is in Session!

Having a crazy inaugural year, Summer School is hitting 25 cities all across the country. This touring festival specifically set out to highlight diverse, independent artists with future headlining potential. Ticket prices are kept low with help from sponsors and fans get an incredible afternoon of music in return. Summer School stopped by The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts last week to play for a packed house. 

Unlike other shows, almost all of the fans showed up for the very first band and stayed until the last headliner finished playing. letdown. started out the day and brought the energy. Honey Revenge came out shortly after. Their set is always so much fun to see and they have been touring frequently within the last few years. Honey Revenge’s debut album Retrovision comprised most of their set while fans sang almost every word back to them. 

Magnolia Park was definitely a bit more hardcore, but the crowd seemed to enjoy it just as much. They brought out a few special guests throughout their set including Ethan Ross and Devin Papadol from Honey Revenge. Scene Queen was up next and added a few fun banners to the stage. Her set was upbeat and had most of the room dancing around. Joey Fleming from In Her Own Words also joined her on stage for one song near the end of her set. 

Stand Atlantic’s set was when the crowd really started surfing. People were making their way up to the stage for almost the entire set. The band brought a lot of energy and everyone really seemed to love it. The Home Team was the last headliner to take the stage and they did not disappoint. A giant rat walked out on stage first and joined them for “Brag.” The rest of their time on stage was full of songs from their popular album Slow Bloom and their new album The Crucible of Life.

Overall, Summer School was a really fun event and did a great job at showing upcoming artists working together for the future. The fans showed up for every band and loved getting to meet their favorite bands between sets. This will be an annual event that everyone can get behind!
