On March 24, Again In May returned with the release of their newest single, “Sell.” The Maryland four-piece post-harcore group first formed in 2019 and have since made a name for themselves with the release of their debut EP Feels Like Home, which was released in 2021. Known for emo, pop-punk, and post-hardcore influences, the band isn’t afraid of taking a multi-genre approach to their music. “Sell” is no different.
Vaguely reminiscent of Thursday, “Sell” pulls all the punches with its infectious riffs and in-your-face lyrics. The single offers a more matured sound than previous releases (the band’s latest release occurred in September of 2022) as their increased attention to detail pays off massively. Equal parts angsty and aggressive, “Sell” is indicative of a band who knows how to tie the fine line between genres, implementing both subtle blast beats and catchy hooks.
Nearly four years since the band’s conception, Again In May continue to prove they have what it takes to stand on their own in the post-hardcore scene. It will be interesting to see what the band does next. Here’s to hoping for a full-length in the near future! Regardless, Again In May is a band you’ll want to keep your eyes on.
“Sell” can be streamed wherever you listen to music.
