Microwave Plays an Incredible Set at The Beacham in Orlando, Florida

Orlando, Florida’s historic venue, The Beacham, recently hosted the state’s only stop on a dynamic tour featuring Microwave, Oso Oso, Delta Sleep, and Mothé.

The crowd piled in early, just in time for Mothé to take the stage with their bubbly energy and tunes. Sporting a boot and crutch, they claimed the injury resulted from “dancing too hard,” but that didn’t hold their performance back at all. The UK’s Delta Sleep received a warm welcome-back to Orlando from the crowd, who came ready to dance and sing along to the band’s set. Oso Oso brought out some decorative foliage and kept the sing-alongs going, making the large room feel like a cozy hangout.

Illuminated only by a few stage lights and projections, Microwave opened with their latest single, the solemn and ambient “Ferrari,” before launching into a powerful hour and a half-long set. The band’s discography is broad enough to appeal to fans of post-hardcore to indie rock, and their setlist gave a dose of all they had to offer. While their studio albums have plenty to appreciate, their live shows are truly where this band shines. Their lyrical honesty and emotional melodies just hit perfectly in a pit, surrounded by sweaty strangers all screaming along together. The cathartic set came full circle with the band going back to their beginnings for their final song – an acoustic sing-along of “Something Right,” off the band’s debut album, Stovall.

The tour is wrapping up this weekend in Microwave’s home city of Atlanta, Georgia with what is looking to be another sold-out show to round out a memorable month-long run.
