Wavves Performs At Fine Line In Minnesota With Cloud Nothings and UltraQ

Wavves stopped in at the Fine Line in Minneapolis on June 8 and delivered a rocking set complete with nothing else but circle pits, crowd surfing, and head-banging. The band is currently in the middle of their month-long U.S. tour spanning both coasts with high-energy acts Cloud Nothings and UltraQ opening each evening.

UltraQ had the crowd warmed up and ready to mosh within the first two songs of their set. The California-based band brought all the energy as they announced that their first full length album would be released that very night. As such, we had the privilege of getting the first taste of their newest era with most of their set consisting of soon-to-be-released tracks. UltraQ definitely gained some new fans as I watched the line build at the merch table as soon as their set ended.

Next up was indie rock band, Cloud Nothings. They kept the energy high and the lights low for their set, encouraging another circle pit to start right behind where I was standing. Views from the balcony showed fans truly having the time of their lives.

After a very quick change up, Wavves took the stage and finished out the electric evening. The set list featured songs from their entire discography spanning back to 2008. Though this tour isn’t promoting any new releases, fans can likely lookout for some soon as their last album was released back in 2021. Wavves truly attracts some lovely fans as I made my way into and around the pit to catch all sides of the action and was met with nothing but joy and respect. I will definitely be catching them the next time they are in the Twin Cities and if you get the chance you should stop by a show before their tour ends in mid-July. You can find tickets here!
