Ava Max finished out her first North American headline tour at a sold out Varsity Theater in Minneapolis on June 30th. Accompanying her were opening acts, Band of Silver and Scarlet Opera, both of which did a wonderful job contributing to the overall glitz and glamour of the evening.
First up was Band of Silver, an indie pop band out of Nashville, TN. The band is composed of powerhouse siblings Avery (lead vocals), Alex (guitar/vocals), and Evan (drums). It’s safe to say talent runs in the family! Avery, complete with her silver star-patterned platform boots, and her brothers warmed up the crowd with their high-energy performance of the band’s catchy songs.

Next was the Scarlet Opera, an unexpected highlight of the night for both me and the rest of the audience. Between the bright red feather boa whipping around the stage and the endless exuberance from their lead singer Luka, the five-member band delivered a spectacular, eye-catching performance that left the crowd wanting more.

Finally, it was time for Ava Max. Long overdue for a tour with her first hit topping the charts back in 2020, Ava brought in an incredibly diverse crowd. From 10 year olds in sparkly tutus, to grandmas adorned with eyeliner more complex than Ava herself even wore, everyone in Minneapolis had blocked out their evening to catch the show. Cheers erupted from the room as Ava took the stage accompanied by her six talented backup dancers. The production level was incredible with multiple costume changes and a large glowing diamond serving as a backdrop to the singer’s jaw-dropping vocals. It’s safe to say that the show was worth the wait!
Though this tour is over, I’m sure Ava Max will be back on the road soon given its success. Make sure to catch her next time she’s in a city near you!
