Closing out a successful North American tour, Sammy Rae & The Friends spent their last night in Boston, Massachusetts at Roadrunner. They spoke on stage frequently that this show feels like coming home since they originate from close by in New York.
The show opened with some great music from Jukebox The Ghost. I’ve been listening to them for several years now so it was a nice treat to see them play in any capacity. Roadrunner began to fill up and everyone was dancing along to their set.
Sammy Rae & The Friends took the stage as the crowd erupted into applause. Their set consisted of their entire debut album titled Something for Everybody plus a few older fan favorites like “Jackie Onassis”. After catching their show in New Haven earlier this year, I couldn’t wait to see them again. Their live performances are like no others, both in sound and in charisma. Every member of the band brings their own personality to the stage along with a wide variety of instruments. Each song feels like a thoughtful choice with fun moments that can’t be seen anywhere else. This run for them might have just come to a close, but I absolutely cannnot wait to see what the new year brings for Sammy Rae & The Friends.
