The Wet Hot All-American Summer Tour Takes Over Tampa, FL

The Wet Hot All-American Summer Tour made its debut on August 11 in the wettest and hottest place possible, Tampa, FL. This amphitheater tour of pop punk all-stars boasts a legendary, action-packed lineup and is best enjoyed with your best friends and a nice, cold venue lemonade.

Though the show’s start time was delayed causing them to only have time for four songs each, The Get Up Kids and The Starting Line powered through and gave stellar performances. The crowd showed their love by singing along and rolling with the changes in the schedule.

New Found Glory brought a pop of color to the stage with their set design, as well as an honorary member of the band in the form of a punk rock skeleton. This tour is a special one for the band, as it marks the return to the road for guitarist Chad Gilbert, who had been on an off-and-on schedule due to receiving treatment for a rare cancer. He gave a joyful performance and the crowd gave it their all to welcome him back to the stage. The band “made the most of” their shortened set, leading the audience in singalongs of some of their most iconic tracks, as well as their fan-favorite cover of “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer.

Accompanied by an absolutely dazzling light show, The All-American Rejects were the cherry on top of this awesome lineup. The band radiated energy, a force that could be felt from the barricade all the way to the edge of the lawn. They took the crowd on a journey back more than 20 years, their abridged set mostly focusing on their first two albums. The audience was treated to hit after hit, culminating in the perfect double feature of “Move Along” and “Gives You Hell” to round out the evening.

The Rejects and friends have created the perfect sendoff to the incredible 2023 summer tour roster and the best part is that you still have plenty of time to catch one of these awesome shows!
